Description

Late C19th gilt-wood framed oval mirror of late C18th George III period restrained design.
The carved gadrooned edge oval frame with an inner border of �split-pearl� moulding surrounding the clear silvered mirror plate, in the late C18th style .
In excellent condition, the gilding having been expertly, skilfully , sympathetically and expensively restored approximately 20 years ago . The subtle gilding having an aged , period style patina with minor areas of atmospheric red gesso , or bole , ground showing.
Has wires and fixings to the reverse allowing the mirror to be hung in either portrait or landscape aspect.
