Elegant late C19th Regency revival-style gilt-wood framed oval mirror.
High quality carved gilt-wood frame with bevelled oval mirror plate . The cavetto profile frame with a carved ovolo or ‘egg-and-dart’ edge , and having multiple closely-spaced reeded spherical balls within the cavetto , and a further carved beaded rim to inner edge .
The frame benefits from having been expertly, skilfully and expensively re-gilded in the traditional manner approximately 20 years ago . The burnished gilt having mellow, consistent surface and patina.
In excellent condition throughout with original back-boards . Wired to reverse to be hung in portrait aspect.
