Mid C19th George II style Chippendale period revival mahogany-framed armchair .
Raised on bold heavily-carved cabriole legs with leaf-wrapped carved detail to the knees raised on claw-and-ball feet . The shapely outswept arms with leaf-carved and �pounced� or �fish-scale� ground terminals. The seat of serpentine outline , the upholstered back having gentle rake and of shaped outline .
The frame having �close-nail� studded detail to edges in the traditional manner . The rear carved cabriole legs with corresponding carving and claw-and-ball feet , having a raked angle for both style and stability .
A large scale copy of an important mid C18th George II Chippendale design armchair of generous proportions in excellent strong condition with no damage or repairs . The mahogany of a dense grade and having achieved a rich period-style colour and patina .
The old neutral fabric covering in serviceable order but would benefit from recovering .
