Late C19th /early C20th George I period style oblong walnut cabriole-legged stool . Well-executed copy of an early C18th walnut framed stool , raised on shapely cabriole legs onto pad feet. The knees carved with shell and husk detail decoration .

Made from a good dense grade of walnut timber which has achieved a period-style colour and patina.

Upholstered in machine-made tapestry material , could be re-covered in fabric of clients choice.

Chic and bijou figured-agate panelled miniature trinket casket with finely-chased brass frame standing upon ball feet . Double-panelled front and rear sections , the top and base panel with bevelled edge detail . The front leading edge of the brass frame with shaped 'finger-plate'/grip for ease of opening .

Strikingly figured red/orange hardstone with nicely aged/patinated brass frame-work .

In excellent original condition with no damage , cracks or repairs .

Panelled-top desk with detachable carved and pierced galleried 'super-structure' back with an arrangement of pigeon-holes,cupboard and drawers. Two-drawer frieze front with carved and pierced apron, the whole raised on shaped cabriole-type legs.( x 2 keys ) The chair with panelled seat , cross-stretcher support ,swept arms , twin splat-back and shaped outline seat. Late C19th /early C20th Chinese Qing dynasty hardwood 'kang' table. Scroll/ended Chinese 'kang' or 'opium ' table with panelled top . Well-carved and pierced lateral friezes with stylised central design of dragons chasing the 'sacred pearl of wisdom' . The open ends with shaped moulding.
Carved detail to end of feet.

Has variance of colour due to sunlight exposure , but panel top has a rich, dark patina.

No breaks or losses.

Marks and wear commensurate with age and use.

Useful size and height for coffee or reception room table.

Exotic ivory-inlaid octagonal top table of useful height and scale . Profusely inlaid top with floral and trailing vine designs . The centre with an elaborate quatrefoil type design . The edge with ebony and ivory chevron inlaid detail .

The octagonal hinged and folding base with arcaded sides and ivory inlaid detail .

Traditionally made in the Hoshaipur district of Northern India ,for export to the West where during the late C19th they were highly fashionable . Made using the local shisham timber.

In good original condition , with only minor losses to inlay.

Late C19th 'Arts and Crafts' movement 4-fold screen/room -divider. Highly decorative and useful large-scale 4-leaf embossed-paper screen ,mounted on an ebonised and panelled hinged frame. Central panels with cherry and foliate design , together with "Japonesque" 'mons'-style motif borders, evoking the designs of William Morris.
Plain wooden reverse.
Overall good condition with no rips or repairs to panels , with wear to edges commensurate with age and use.

Could also be wall-mounted to form a stunning back-drop to a period room.

Each panel 76" high x 26" wide (overall length 104").

Late C19th brass-bound oak semi-circular umbrella / stick-stand of 'coopered' construction . Well-designed flat-backed umbrella stand with 3 brass bands over a slatted oak body. Weighted heavily-moulded base for stability and balance ,with pierced integral handle to the back . The interior fitted with a lift-out blacked-tin or zinc liner with hinged handles.

Excellent original condition with marks and wear to base and liner commensurate with age and use.

The timber having achieved a good patina and 'mid-oak' colour , has been cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
Ready to use.

Useful addition for a hall-way or boot-room.

Well-modelled bronze patinated copper electrotype bust probably produced by Elkington & Co. Ltd. The bearded and helmeted classical bust study of Ajax looking to dexter , raised on a socle base.

The Greek Ajax was the son of Telamon , the King of Cyprus , he was the ruler of Salamis and a hero of the Trojan Wars.
The study is after a copy by Giambologna ,Italian ,1570, of the Greek original by Antigenes.

Good dark bronzed patination with atmospheric copper highlights .

Deeply carved 'Hongmu' frame with peony flowers and leaves on a 'punched' ground all around the edges, and an Imperial Dragon amongst clouds to the top centre. Well-carved Dragons head with inset ivory eyes. The peony flower ,known as the ' King of flowers' ,symbolises fame ,wealth and good fortune in Chinese culture. The mirror glass plate with bevelled edge and re-entrant corners. Panelled back with rings for hanging. A useful mirror for furnishing an Oriental style interior. H 30" X W 22. China c.1880
