C19th Regency style circular gilt-wood mirror.
C19th Regency style circular gilt-wood mirror. Fitted with a flat bevel-edge mirror plate , with reeded ebonised slip/surround. The cavetto moulded edge frame fitted with gilded sphere decoration.

All complete and in good order , with some re-touching to the gilt balls and minor areas to edge of frame , but essentially original gilding.
Nice 'soft' gilded colour with some evidence of red gesso ground showing through.

Useful scale mirror , ready to hang.

C19th satin-birch circular topped tripod-base candle-stand or occasional table in the manner of Holland & Sons.

Elegant tall table on finely turned column stem with delicately proportioned shaped supports . Circular moulded-edge top.

Probably by the London cabinet-making firm of Holland & Sons (1803-1942) , awarded the Royal Warrant early in the reign of Queen Victoria and supplied furniture to many of the Royal residencies and palaces.

In as found 'country-house' condition , with some polish-loss and water-staining to the top . No breaks or repairs .

C19th specimen marble-inlaid table top. Set in Derbyshire slate , symmetrically radiating stone specimens of tapering sizes. Probably made in Ashford ,which was a centre for the fashionable production of inlaid wares of this genre and where local craftsmen worked imported coloured marbles into the local polished black limestone , and inspired by the Florentine 'pietra dura' industries of Italy. . C19th Victorian period burr-walnut cigar cabinet/humidor. Superb quality cabinet with recessed gilt-brass handles , hinges and carrying handles . Beautifully figured tightly-grained burr veneers with well-designed assymetric doors fitted with full-length 'piano' hinges and lock by "Bramah, London" together with the original key . The top two smaller interior drawers are beautifully veneered all around with ebony edged tops , probably to present cigars from the cabinet to the dining table or to guests. All drawers lined in cedar and the larger two with moveable divisions. The top set with a gilt-brass oval (unengraved). The base with old green baize covering. A beautifully crafted gentleman's accessory.

Stunning quality cabinet with large "Sevres"-style porcelain plaque to centre door with heavily-cast ribbon ormolu surround , depicting romantic lovers in a rural idyll. Best quality veneers and ormolu mounts , flanked with string-inlaid free-standing columns with cast-ormolu Corinthian-capital tops .Bow-ended glass doors with string-inlaid shelves and velvet-lined interior to centre. The break-front top veneered in figured and burr walnut, the edge with cast ormolu beading. Inlaid box-wood marquetry designs to friezes ,and banding to panelled centre door .Wonderful colour and patina with good 'skirting-board' overhang to back ,and overall a cabinet of impressive and substantial proportions and a grade, quality and scale, well above the norm . C19th Victorian period majolica-type glazed pottery garden or 'grotto' seat , fashioned as a tree-stump. Interesting green and brown glazed garden seat with naturalistic bark and cut-branch detail .
The top with hand-hold cut-out for ease of transportation.

Unmarked to underside , but of the type of fashionable majolica pottery-ware produced during the mid-C19th by the likes of Mintons.

The top has small firing crack from central hand-hold , whilst the underside has some small stress cracks from base.
Highly decorative and functional piece for use in a garden , orangery or conservatory .

C19th walnut and kingwood-banded ormolu-mounted 'bureau-plat ' or writing table.The top inlaid with floral marquetry inlay borders , on cabriole legs with well-cast ormolu mounts to the knees and sabots to the feet. Made in England in the French Louis XV taste . Well-figured walnut veneers ,of serpentine outline with single 'concealed' frieze drawer stamped "Edwards and Roberts ". Edwards and Roberts of Wardour St., London ,were a well-respected firm of high-class C19th furniture manufacturers and retailers. Original tooled Morocco leather inset writing surface. The table has achieved a nice mellow colour and patina.

Original untouched gilded finish and with an atmospheric, slightly distressed/foxed mirror plate .
Original boarded and papered back.
Good mellow aged patina and finish .

Minor historic repair to top left leaf carving .

Excellent ready-to-use original condition , having been cleaned and waxed in our workshops . Pleasing consistent mellow colour and patina .

The top with minor indentations from boots and spurs, commensurate with age and use.

C19th William IV period rosewood-framed day-bed / chaise-longue in the manner of Gillows of Lancaster. Top quality rosewood frame with classically-inspired anthemion and lotus leaf-wrapped motif carved detail and decoration with dramatic exaggerated scroll-end. Stands on carved and shaped supports with concealed original brass castors. Newly re-upholstered in the traditional manner in our workshops. Completely free-standing and symmetrical with a D-shaped end. Double-sided loose cushion with horse-hair filling and cord detail edge, and loose roll cushion to end. Well-chosen figured timber of good colour, original polish surface , cleaned and waxed.
