C19th parquetry/marquetry-inlaid New Zealand tripod table.
C19th parquetry/marquetry-inlaid New Zealand tripod table . Made in the style and manner of the reknowned New Zealand émigré Bohemian cabinet-maker Anton Seuffert. Stunning marquetry-top circular occasional table inlaid with specimen indigenous/native New Zealand timbers. Geometric 'star-on-star' design inlaid top , raised on a distinctive turned baluster stem with 3 carved cabriole-type legs and base-finial. Brass 'banjo-type' catch to tilt-action top, and figured timber block. Although not labelled by Seuffert , this table bears strong resemblance to the style and craftsman-ship of Australasia's most celebrated colonial cabinet-maker. In excellent original condition . Rare C19th George IV rosewood lamp-table / occasional table with unusual marquetry inlaid top.

Exceptional quality scroll 'arabesque' marquetry-inlaid circular top , the inlay of burr-maple or figured satinwood contrasting with the rich rosewood ground. Raised on an elegant swollen column with turned top section . The tri-form concave platform base raised on flattened bun feet.

Excellent colour and patina , retaining its original finish . Waxed and cleaned in our workshops.

The top with minor marks and stains commensurate with age ,use and purpose.

Though no comparative examples have been identified, quality and form suggest a possible attribution to the celebrated firm of Gillows of Lancaster.

A practical duo of C18th mahogany bedside tables/ cupboards, both having had the commode sections removed to provide a cupboard with hinged lid revealing a useful storage compartment. Both with hinged top shelves , bow-fronted bases , one raised on square section front supports , the other on turned supports.

Good quality richly patinated and figured mahogany throughout, some marks and stains to original polished finish commensurate with age and use.

Cleaned and waxed ready to use .

Each table of identical height and proportions.

The limestone cream-coloured Travertine circular top of well-chosen figured stone.

The gilded bronze base with an atmospheric aged patina . A stylish and chic table , with bold presence.

Possibly by the esteemed and highly-regarded firm of 'Maison Jansen' , Paris. The company renowned for its interpretation of Empire and 'Hollywood Regency' styles.

Excellent quality 'plum pudding' figured mahogany tea-table ,of D-shaped form with folding swivel action top with concealed compartment beneath. Raised on a tapering octagonal column to a shaped platform base with moulded sabre supports terminating in floriate-cast gilded brass capped castors. Wonderful rich colour timber with a striking figured grain throughout the top. Cleaned and waxed , no splits ,warps or damage, original finish and patina. Highly practical side/games table , with facility as 2 person dining or supper table.

Pair of late C19th Chippendale-revival mahogany candle-stands. Faithful copies of important C18th candle-stands , with tripod bases and 'Chinese-Chippendale' design open-fret gallery octagonal tops. Elegant turned columns with carved vase knop and beaded collar details , onto carved claw feet with a carved rococo cartouche detail to the knees. A good quality grade of timber which has obtained a nice faded Georgian period style patina. Some ring marks/stains to tops, but no breaks or repairs.(candle-sticks not included) H 40" x W (Tops) 12" . England c.1890

Late C19th French ormolu-mounted walnut occasional table .Burr and figured walnut cabriole-leg table in Louis XVI style, fitted with 3 oak-lined drawers with pierced rococo foliate handles. Rococo-style ormolu mounts with satyr-masks to the sides and sun-goddess mask to the reverse. Well-cast mounts to the knees with ormolu 'sabot' mounts to the feet. The 'book-matched' veneered serpentine-shaped top with cast ormolu edge (one corner deficient).Bears ivorine retailers label "W.J.Mansell....London."

C19th Regency period mahogany fold-over tea-table. Great timber and patina , all original , cleaned and waxed . Swivel action fold-over top with polished interior. Standing on four hipped and moulded sabre-type legs with brass lions-paw claw cap castors, turned centre column. The frieze has a flame-veneered centre classical tablet with ebony and box-wood stringing . Solid mahogany top has very slight shrinkage 'smile'/gap to front edge , but it does little to detract from the overall colour and quality of the table. A fantastic grade of timber and colour. A practical and adaptable table . W 36" x D 18" x H 29". England c. 1820
