Well-carved table-centre feature decoration with triple caparisoned elephant-head supports incorporating bone eyes and tusks .Recessed top 'bowl' above intricately-carved platform base and stylised claw feet. All complete, in excellent condition.

Pair of C19th Japanese porcelain dishes. Decorated with enamels in the C18th Chinese 'famille rose' palette. Figural scene to centre with pavillion and trees. Perfect condition and finely painted shallow-depth dishes with scalloped edges ,and borders decorated with vignettes of peonies, Phoenix birds and floral designs. Painted marks to reverse together with 'kiln spur' impressions, foot-rim and with blue and white decoration to rear edge. Dia.. 18" . Japan c 1875.

Late C19th Chinese Qing dynasty carved hardwood low jardiniere stand with inset marble top. Heavily carved 'hongmu' jardiniere stand/low table with shaped inset rouge pink marble top . The frieze with pierced carved foliate/vine detail , the knees carved with mythical beast masks , stylised claw feet ,all joined with shaped stretchers. The shaped top with carved bead edge. Strikingly-figured coral pink marble top with no cracks , breaks , chips or repairs.

Excellent rich colour and patina. Original condition with no breaks, repairs or damage.
Cleaned and waxed.

Pierced and carved friezes with fruiting vine detail and end panels with conforming carved detail . The top with inset 'floating' panel of well-chosen and attractive highly-figured and burr timber.

Consistent patination ,which has achieved a warm ,honey colour .

Large late C19th Chinese carved hardwood figure group.

Superbly detailed carved hardwood group with a central sage or Shou-Xing God of longevity and old-age figure and boy surmounted and surrounded with auspicious symbols . The tall sage or god figure carrying a laden staff and a symbolic peach bough signifying immortality, held across his body . The boy grasping him , proffering an auspicious bat in his hands , a symbol of good fortune . To the side stands a crane , symbolising longevity, whilst to the base are symbolic pines , whose qualities of durability and hardiness are held in high esteem in Chinese culture.

All the elements symbolising good luck , good fortune , longevity , fortitude and good health .

The figures with carved-bone eye and teeth detail.

Excellent rich colour, patina and colour.
In good original condition.

C19th Anglo-Indian ebony , porcupine-quill and ivory rectangular desk-top book-stand.

Ceylonese book-rack in excellent original condition , constructed with an ebony frame with turned ebony pilasters to the corners, the frame containing porcupine-quill spindles , the whole inlaid with ivory 'dot' inlay and stained red ivory designs and roundels.

Raised on miniature turned bun feet .

The production of such porcupine-quill wares was centred on the Galle District in the south-west of the island of Ceylon at this period , producing a huge variety of objects and furniture. At the Colonial and Indian Exhibition of 1886 , firms such as D.F.De Silva showed a variety of such wares.

In excellent undamaged and original condition.

A smart, practical and highly-decorative desk accessory.

Good quality Chinese jardiniere or 'fish-bowl' stand with inset variegated rouge marble top , and a border of floral design 'mother-of-pearl' nacre shell inlay .

Well carved throughout raised on shaped supports with grotesque masks to the knees and dragon's claw feet . Joined with a shaped stretcher beneath . Intricate carved friezes and 'bobble'-carved edge top.

In excellent original condition .

Late C19th /early C20th Chinese Qing dynasty hardwood 'kang' table. Scroll/ended Chinese 'kang' or 'opium ' table with panelled top . Well-carved and pierced lateral friezes with stylised central design of dragons chasing the 'sacred pearl of wisdom' . The open ends with shaped moulding.
Carved detail to end of feet.

Has variance of colour due to sunlight exposure , but panel top has a rich, dark patina.

No breaks or losses.

Marks and wear commensurate with age and use.

Useful size and height for coffee or reception room table.

Late C19th Chinese carved hardwood framed wall mirror . Deeply carved 'Hongmu' frame with peony flowers and leaves on a 'punched' ground all around the edges, and an Imperial Dragon amongst clouds to the top centre. Well-carved Dragons head with inset ivory eyes. The peony flower ,known as the ' King of flowers' ,symbolises fame ,wealth and good fortune in Chinese culture. The mirror glass plate with bevelled edge and re-entrant corners. Panelled back with rings for hanging. A useful mirror for furnishing an Oriental style interior. H 30" X W 22. China c.1880

Pair of early C20th Chinese turquoise-glazed 'Dogs of Fo'. Strikingly-coloured decorative pair of Buddhistic temple guardian lion-dogs in excellent condition . Male and female representations with contrasting stances and decoration. Raised on 'draped' plinth bases , the male dog with traditional ball symbol beneath his paw, whilst the female has a cub .No chips, repairs or damage. Minor colour loss around bases where glaze has 'run' in firing.
