Late C19th gilded brass and onyx standard lamp. High quality rococo style gilt brass standard lamp with telescopically adjustable-height column. Pale onyx marble centre platform/shelf with heavily-cast edge. 'Twist action' centre-block with tassel decoration for telescopic height adjustment. Tri-form base with pierced supports and all-over flamboyant rococo decoration. Adapted to electricity from oil , but with original reservoir/font stamped "Messengers Patent". Late C19th French gilt-brass and facetted cut-glass hanging light/lantern. Of "Versailles" design ( similar to a model in the Marble Vestibule in the Palace of Versailles) in C18th Louis XVI style , good quality patinated cast-brass hall light. shaped and tapered cut-glass body light (one very minor almost imperceptible chip) with floral swag decoration. Decorative 'coronet' top with acanthus leaf scrolls and open-work base with decorative terminal. Can be re-wired to clients specification. H 22 " x Dia.(of body) 9". France c.1880

Modelled as a pair of dark-patinated bronze 'blackamoor' hands with filigree ormolu "lace" cuffs holding a finely-chased ormolu branch with a blue and white opaline glass shades. The shades of tulip flower form . The hands of opposing design.

Striking combination of colours and materials.

Pair of late C19th/early C20th silver-plated candelabras of classical design.
Pair of late C19th /early C20th silver-plated candelabras of classical design . Smart pair of E.P.N.S (Electro-Plated Nickel Silver) C18th George III style triple knozzle ,twin-branch candelabras by Collis & Co. , London.

Well-cast classical fluted columns and stepped bases with leaf-cast Corinthian caps, all fitted with removable sconces. The detachable foliate cast 3-burner twin-branch arms raised on a knopped spiral-twist stem, can be removed , allowing the columns to be used as single-burner candlesticks. Beaded-edge decoration to the shaped 'drip-pans' and also to the stepped bases. Both candelabras bear a small engraved armorial device to the stepped bases, of a rampant lion above a coronet. The enclosed and weighted bases both stamped "Collis & Co. 130, Regent St., London " and marked EPNS together with makers mark*.

In good original condition , showing some wear and tarnish to plate commensurate with age and use .

Authentic period style decoration to add candle-light and elegance to a dining table or sideboard .

*The Birmingham-based firm of manufacturers George Richmond Collis and Company , opened a branch at 130 Regent St. London in 1854. The well-respected firm produced a wide range of goods described in an 1839 advertisement as"Articles in the highest classes of the arts, in Gold , Silver , Plated bronze and Ormolu.." and in 1849 "..Platers by the new process of Electro Plate on fine German silver etc..."
In addition their quality goods were shown at 'The Great Exhibition' of 1851 .

Louis XVI- style candelabras modelled as partially-draped cherubs or 'amorini' holding foliate branch candle-branches perched upon naturalistic ormolu supports. Octagonal facetted white marble bases with cylindrical centres and ormolu decoration, raised on compressed ribbed ormolu feet. Well-cast chased ormolu candle-holders. Pair of early C20th Italian carved gilt-wood 3 branch scroll-arm wall-lights . In C18th period style , good-scale pair of gilt-wood and gesso wall-lights. Triple lamp-holders with carved foliate leaf-wrapped and rosette decoration. Candle-holder type nozzles and circular back-plates with carved edges. The gilding has gained a nice mellow patina ,with the red gesso ground 'bleeding' through in areas to imitate period style and aging. Can be re-wired to client's specification.
