C19th Italian bronze 'Grand Tour' souvenir reduction of the equestrian statue of the Emperor Marcus Aurelius .

Copy of the ancient Roman statue in the Campidoglio , Rome , Italy. Portraying the Emperor mounted on horse-back, the original is now on display in the Capitoline Museums , with a replica on display in the open air of the Piazza del Campidoglio .
The overall theme of the statue is one of power and divine grandeur , with the over life-size study of the Emperor mounted on horse-back.

Marcus Aurelius Antoninus Augustus (121 AD- 180 AD) was Roman Emperor from 161 to 180. He ruled with Lucius Verus as co-emperor.

Good quality detailed casting of consistent dark patination .
Minor damage to finger-tips of outstretched right hand .

Well-figured stone bodies with a tri-footed base and mounts taking their influence from the art of Japan . 'Japonisme' or the style influences of Japanese decoration and techniques upon European works of art began during the 1870's .

Crisply-cast gilt bronze mounts with shaped top rims and flower-cast pierced bases with moveable shaped-plate dropper handles to the sides.

Fitted with twin cast ormolu ink-wells with hinged tops and 'flambeau' finials .The cream oval onyx stone base with ovoid pen recess, and raised on compressed ormolu bronze bun feet.

Excellent condition with good bright ormolu .

Late C19th octagonal satinwood bijouterie/display table. Diminutive bijouterie table veneered in exotic and expensive West Indian satinwood ,with glazed and hinged top , raised on square section tapering legs with brass ball feet. The legs joined by a decorative shaped stretcher. The interior lined with old scarlet silk damask . Fitted with a brass lock and shaped ivory key escutcheon.

Would be perfect to display a small collection of silver, jewellery or 'objets de virtu'.

Good solid frame which has original rich patina and colour . Raised on original cast-brass castors on turned and carved feet. The well-detailed scroll arms of lyre form , the centre of the shaped dip-back top-rail with a carved scroll surmount .

Supplied with 2 original roll bolster cushions for the ends (not shown in photos) .

Well-decorated Chinese-shaped barrel seat with pierced body and seat top . The sides with 2 bands of raised moulded 'stud-work' decoration . Decorated in a typical English late C19th palette of green and pink/mauve hues with wild flower, bud and leaf printed pattern .

Under-glaze blue Copeland Spode mark to the underside, together with a scripted red pattern number .

Would work equally well in an interior or exterior decorative scheme or in an orangery or conservatory.

In excellent condition with no breaks or repairs. Minor firing cracks to top .

Smart quality etagere with well-turned uprights capped by turned urn finials , and fitted with a 'concealed' drawer to the base. The mahogany lined drawer retains its original blue paper lining to the bottom. The side returns beneath the platforms with a well moulded profile.

Raised on turned and tapering feet , fitted with original quality brass cup castors .

Well-selected figured mahogany which has a rich colour and patina , retaining its original surface and skin .

In excellent condition, has been cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Minor wear to original polished surfaces and very minor surface cracks commensurate with age and use .

Faithfully produced copy of a mid C18th Georgian mirror with fret carved outline , 'swan-neck' broken-arch pediment and parcel-gilt details. Shaped incised parcel-gilt slip/surround. Well-carved giltwood appliqués to the uprights with flower-head and leaf detail .
Good clear plate with minor defects adding to the period feel .
Panelled back with old furniture repository label attached.
Minor loss of colour to small areas of mahogany veneer , but of good colour and patina with no losses to carving or parcel-gilt detail.

Of ancient Classical Greek volute Krater form , styled after the ceremonial urns used in feasts and orgiastic celebrations to hold wine and water . Detailed cast rims and necks with gilded scroll 'volute' twin handles ,above a cast bronzed metal body with all-round decoration featuring a bacchalian procession .
Raised upon a cast-detail spreading circular foot with gilded details.

Through cleaning and polishing the bodies have achieved a lightly-silvered high points finish where the dark patination has been partially removed , which has created a highly decorative contrast between the gilded sections and the dark patina of the other sections of the vases.

Excellent condition , wear commensurate with age and use.

Standing upon sabre legs with swept scroll arms and "Trafalgar-back" 'rope-twist' top-rail . The fashionable rope-twist design resonant of the naval victories of Admiral Lord Nelson ,national icon of the period, whilst the scroll-arms and overall shape reflect the influences of classical Ancient Greek design. Broad and detailed interlaced carved back-splat, and lumbar rail. Excellent colour , the whole inlaid with box-wood stringing detail. Drop-in seat with original worn tapestry cover .
