Pair of elegant early C19th late George III period mahogany bow-front side tables .
Raised on slender turned and tapering legs , each with a single frieze drawer fitted with cast-brass knob-pull handles . The arched-outline fronts with reserves of ebony line stringing inlay , the sides of corresponding shaped arch design. The drawer edged with ebony stringing .
The tops with a reeded front edge and each fitted with finely-cut three-quarter gallery upstand surround . One top with a minor historic patch repair to the right hand side (shown) . One table drawer having a divided central compartment with a removable mahogany panel lid . The drawers having brass escutcheons and brass locks (no keys present).
The reverse of the tables having a slightly recessed back panel , possibly having originally been bespoke designed to fit over a wall moulding or protrusion . Minor historic repairs to rear stiles of legs where they meet the carcass . In strong, sound structural condition throughout.
A practical and decorative pair of side or bedroom tables to provide symmetry to a room setting.
Rich colour and patina, the polish of the tops probably having been sympathetically refreshed in the last 50 years . Ready to use in the home .
