Late C19th Chinese Cantonese ‘famille rose’ decorated porcelain vase.
Finely and brightly painted colourful enamel decoration with opposing large panels depicting traditional scenes of court life , surrounded and interspersed with various motifs , flower-heads and vignettes. The neck with smaller opposing and differing court scene panels .
The top of the neck and the base , decorated with differing bands of decoration. The sides of the neck with applied gilded mythical guardian lion ‘foo’ dogs .
The tall flared neck onto a swelling bulbous body , with an unusual overlapped or ‘cuffed’ design feature.
In excellent original condition with no damage or repairs.
