Early C19th Regency period carved mahogany armchair.
Raised on turned and reeded forelegs , with scroll arms and a reeded frame . The concave top rail of figured mahogany, with well-carved detail and shaped ends with rosette details and gadrooned style carving. The central lumbar bar of carved and pierced open design with a central rosette or patera .
A well-designed armchair of good scale and proportions which would work well as a desk or library chair .
In excellent original condition with no breaks or repairs. Rich , consistent colour and patina.
The upholstered ‘stuff-over’ seat in need of recovering which can be completed at cost using client’s choice of fabric.
