Description

Late C19th/ early C20th Chippendale revival mahogany serving or console table,
Mid C18th George II period style rectangular table of breakfront outline , fitted with a central frieze drawer . The edge of the top with ‘ribbon and rose’ carving, the frieze with a broad band of carved Vitruvian scroll or ‘running-dog’ decoration , with a further carved decorative gadrooned moulding below.
Raised on four bold cabriole-style legs with carved scrolls , flower-carved knees with trailing hare-bells , terminating in well-carved ‘hairy-paw’ feet.
In excellent original condition with a good rich colour and patina. A well-executed quality copy of an important mid C18th table.
