Early C19th French Empire style �trumeau� mirror .
The gilt-wood framed mirror plate set on a pale green surround retaining it�s original decoration. The gilded detail Empire-style decoration of the rectangular trumeau panel frieze above the plate with a central classical-style mask flanked by ribbons and swags on a dark blue -grey painted background.
The top of the frame with a finely detailed classically-inspired gilt-wood lateral moulding with anthemion and stiff-leaf motifs .
The original silvered mirror plate with atmospheric �spotting� and �foxing�
degradation. The verso with original panelled backboards.
Minor historic losses to gilt gesso decoration. Minor historic losses to the green ground decorative surround which could be sensitively refreshed or restored if required.
