Late C19th / early C20th mahogany double-sided mahogany library or partners� desk of large scale .
Impressive Chippendale-style carved mahogany pedestal desk of imposing scale. Both sides each fitted with seven drawers retaining their original pierced brass rococo style �swan-neck� handles, brass key escutcheons , oak dove-tailed linings . The drawer fronts all with carved corner details.
The rectangular top with a �gadrooned� carved edge , and fitted with a gilt-tooled green leather inset writing surface , The pedestals with carved and moulded details to all sides , each raised on four well-carved cabriole supports with �claw-and-ball� feet .
The whole desk has a uniform dark patina and colour with only minor wear commensurate with age , use and purpose. The leather top with some minor areas of wear but with an atmospheric worn appeal.
