Early C20th Regency style mahogany 2-pillar dining table with an additional extension leaf .
Solid mahogany twin-pillar mahogany dining table of superior quality and practical proportions. The two sections each with gently rounded corner tops and raised on quadruple moulded swept sabre-legs all fitted with gilt-brass claw castors, supporting a turned vase column or pillar.
An elegant table which has been skilfully produced in accurate Regency period style re-purposing a nineteenth century mahogany table top with has achieved a wonderful mellow colour and patina to the figured timber.
Both sections fitted to the central block with a brass handle release mechanism in the traditional manner allowing the tables to be stored tipped upright if required. The tops can also be detached from the blocks by unscrewing the period-style ‘thumb-screw’ bolts to aid movement. The table sections and leaf with a reeded edge , fitted with brass clips and forks to secure and folding mahogany supports beneath to provide extra stability when the additional leaf is added.
A versatile and elegant table of classic restrained period design which would seat 8-10 diners .
In excellent condition with only minor marks and dents to top commensurate with age, use and purpose.Has been cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
