Fine pair of C18th Italian bronze lions mounted on �faux� marble decorated plinth bases .
Superbly modelled and cast pair of bronze regal lions depicted reclining upon integrally cast oak leaf and acorn bases . The front paws raised upon a sphere perhaps in an interpretation of the renowned �Medici� lions . The tails wrapped around the rear haunches.
The lions each portrayed with a slightly differing facial expression. The casting with fine detail to the skin and mane with evidence of fine chiselling to the finished surface .
Excellent original condition with a fine green-hued dark patination and colour.
Mounted upon later sympathetic C19th wooden bases with �faux� simulated marble decoration.
