Large late C19th Japanese Arita porcelain vase and cover decorated in the Imari palette.
Meiji period (1868-1913) Japanese porcelain vase decorated in bright enamels in the Imari style. The body boldly decorated in the traditional manner with alternating panels and vignettes of parading ladies or bijins , in fenced landscapes with exotic bird and floral motifs. The domed lid or cover with similar coloured decoration with a knop finial .
Highly decorative Japanese vase of good large scale with vivid colours to add Oriental exoticism to an interior.
The underside of the vase marked with a hand-painted 6-character mark .
