Description

Mid C19th mahogany circular breakfast or centre table.
Raised on an octagonal facetted and tapering column with a turned ring onto a tri-form concave-sided base. The platform base standing on compressed circular bun feet with castors beneath.
The circular top formed in two 'book-matched' halves of figured solid mahogany with a simple thumb-moulded edge . The underside edge of the table fitted with a shallow frieze and a raised moulded rim .
Fitted with it's original gilt-brass handle and spring-release catch to the underside of the top and receptors to the block , allowing the table to tip , and with it's original gilt-brass bolts for securing to the central block of the base .
Good original colour and patina. One minor shrinkage crack to edge of the top (shown) and minor historic nicks of veneer losses to edges of the base .
A useful and practical size circular table with the added benefit of tilting for storage .
