Description

Early C19th French Empire design ormolu-mounted inkstand of outstanding quality.
Fine desk-top inkstand with ebonised pentray base with finely-cast ormolu mounts and decoration . The stand fitted with 2 original cut-glass facetted ink-well bottles and a central detachable ormolu candlestick. The whole mounted with intricately designed cast ormolu mounts.
The lids of the ink bottles with cast ormolu bronze lids with lion mask details . The candlestick ring handle cast with a butterfly .
Raised on cast ormolu bun feet , each end fitted with decorative cast ormolu handles.
In excellent original condition throughout, with no damage , losses or repairs.
