Impressive scale pair of 'ribbed' and tapering ovoid body Imari vases with domed covers and Kylin , or mythical Guardian Dog surmounts . Intricately hand-painted throughout with panels , vignettes and 'mons' symbols in traditional Imari colour palette of red , coral , blue and gold .
Wonderfully decorative pair of large Imari pattern vases of exceptional quality and in excellent condition. One vase with an historic 'invisible' repair to the standing collar of the body .
Very minor rubbing to gilding or paint .
No cracks or chips .
