Description

Late C18th George III period brass-bound mahogany plate-bucket.

These buckets were a staple requirement and necessity in the large country houses and homes of the nobility in the late C18th, in order to transport quantities of heavy silver or porcelain plates from the kitchens or butler's pantry located below stairs ,to the dining , banqueting or state rooms , to where distance was a issue .
