Late C19th Indian Kashmiri papier-mâché lamp base of elegant proportions.
Highly decorative Indian hand-painted paisley and floral decorated table lamp base.
Papier-mâché work if this type was traditionally produced at Srinagar in Northern Indian region of Kashmir for export to the western market . The technique was a handicraft brought by Muslims from Persia in the C15th .
