Interesting and decorative C18th George II period style carved and polished pine pier table with a faux marble slab top.
Decorative C19th copy of a mid-Georgian period pier or console table raised on boldly carved acanthus leaf detail cabriole legs onto pad feet.
The frieze with fluted detail beneath an ovolo or 'egg and dart ' carved moulding. The pine wooden top has been painted and simulated as a portoro marble slab . The pine body has been coloured and polished to resemble oak .
The reverse with plain patinated finish .
Useful scale side or hall table of practical proportions.
In good original country-house condition. The faux marble slab top with evidence of an historic repaired joint and minor marks , scratches and paint surface losses.
