Late C19th Indian octagonal carved teak or 'shisham' table with cast-brass top .
Good larger scale carved and pierced 'jaali-work ' arcaded base table supporting an impressively decorated loose cast-brass lobed-edge top . Decorated with piercing and flower-head detail , carved uprights and lateral stretchers.
The intricately-cast pattern top with a central lobed circular recess . The base hinged to fold for ease of transport or movement, but now fixed for stability.
Smart and decorative Indian table to add an exotic statement to an interior scheme. Would work equally well in a reception room or an orangery/garden room .
In excellent original condition with no damage or losses. The wooden base having a nice dry finish , whilst the highly-polished brass top has no holes or dents .
Probably produced in Northern India , Benares.
