Rare mid C19th olive-wood wine table or candle-stand on a quadruple support base.
Dished-top circular wine table raised on a 'bobble' carved spiral-twist 'Solomonic ' column stem ,with leaf-carved detail above the four-splay carved and shaped base with carved scroll feet . The lower terminal of the column with a lacquered brass collar .
The whole table unusually constructed of olive wood , a timber scarcely used in the manufacture of English furniture during this period.. The figured solid top of well-selected timber with a striking grain . The whole table has achieved a glowing honey-coloured patina .
In good original condition with only minor historic repairs . Minor marks to the top commensurate with age and use .
Has been cleaned , waxed and checked in our workshops , and is ready to use .
