Description

Early C19th George IV period gilt-brass mounted rosewood and simulated rosewood torchere or sculpture stand of Empire design.
Circular rosewood topped torchere with a decorative pierced brass gallery surround and carved 'knulled' edge. Raised on 3 tapering column supports each with decoratively cast gilt-brass Empire style mounts.
The tri-form stepped base with 3 carved scroll feet onto a platform . The construction from figured rosewood veneer and well-simulated faux rosewood.
In good original condition with a rich patination .
