Pair of C19th Italian carved alabaster 'Grand Tour' souvenir lions after Antonio Canova.
Mounted upon green 'verde mare' marble bases , pair of carved off-white alabaster lions .
Both lions in damaged 'country-house' condition, with old repairs and losses but having immense charm . Cracks and repairs to bodies and paws , losses to tails. Now stable .
After the originals by Antonio Canova in 1792 for the tomb of Pope Clemence XIII , located in St.Peters , Rome .
