Description

Early C19th George IV period faded mahogany rectangular breakfast or centre table of unusual proportions and design.
Beautifully faded 3-plank sectional figured mahogany rectangular top with a shallow frieze surround . Raised on a faceted central spreading column support onto a quadrupite concave sided platform base. The whole raised upon compressed bun feet with recessed brass castors.
Unusually the whole of the underside of the top, support frame and block of the base are fully finished and polished.
The top and base have achieved a wonderful consistent mellow faded patina and colour . The top constructed from 3 wide figured mahogany boards .
Some minor historic watermarks and stains to the top commensurate with age and use.
Minor shrinkage cracks to joined boards of top.
The top located to the base for tipping and detachment by 3 brass bolts with 'thumbscrew' ends.
