Pair of C18th Italian gilt-wood altar type candlestick lamps.
Good large-scale pair of carved wood and gesso decorated altar candlesticks on exaggerated scrolled tri-pod support bases in the Venetian style . Tapering tri-form bodies with strap-work type gesso decoration. The tops with flat brass drip-pans .
In good original, as found 'country-house' condition, with some losses to gilding and decoration . Loss to one carved corner.
Excellent aged patina to the gilding .
Can be rewired to client's specification.
