Interesting early C19th Chinese pale hardwood centre / lamp table.
Of free-standing oblong form , useful-scale Chinese pale-coloured hardwood table , possibly cedar. The 'floating panel' top with an historic repaired crack to centre. The bases of the square-section legs with various historic repairs and splices , undoubtedly alluding to it's age and regard . The stepped open-fretted friezes with carved details ,and each with unusual carved baluster archaic vase-shaped motif inserts . The base of the legs with a carved inverted foot and united with stretchers.
A rare pale colour and patina with attractive grain and lustre.
Various marks and stains to top commensurate with age ,use and purpose.
