Large early C20th Italian carved giltwood lamp standard in C17th Venetian style.
Elaborate and flamboyant carved giltwood standard lamp of bold scale, modelled as a Venetian candle-stand . Standing upon three carved lion's paw feet , the column with intricate carved ,pierced and leaf-wrapped detail .
The gilt having a gently aged patina and colour . No breaks or losses , minor wear and chips to gilded surface, adding to the overall appearance of an important and impressive period candle-stand.
