Early C19th George IV period 'pull-out' action extending mahogany dining table with 3 original extra leaves .
In completely original condition , an excellent early nineteenth century extending mahogany dining table of highly adaptable format . Raised on 4 carved and fluted legs with a carved lobed top section , terminating onto 'ball' feet having original concealed wooden castors beneath .The whole table with a simple 'thumb-moulded' edge. Superb strong easy-opening pull-out mahogany framed box-section extending action , which can be fitted with any combination of the 3 original leaves
The frieze with 'stepped-out' corners around the legs and a profile moulding around the lower edge .The 3 leaves each fitted with locating dowels or pegs .The whole table is in completely flat condition with no warps, splits or movement .
The 3 leaves of a darker patination and with a variance of colour to the table ,having not been in regular use or exposed to sun-light . The table top end sections with some historic marks and 'scars' beneath the original polish , but crucially retains its original 'skin' and finish . Has a good mellow patinated colour .
A highly practical dining table of useful scale and proportion , quality design and construction from a well-chosen superior grade of mahogany .
Would comfortably acommodate 12 diners when fully opened .
