Large mid-C19th mahogany 2 section library bookcase.
Double-height divided open library bookcase raised on a plinth base with flared cornice to the upper section . Fitted throughout with fully adjustable 'ladder-rack' shelving . The top section of shallow depth , having probably been reduced in proportion at some point in its history . The sides of the bookcase being stained and polished pine as often the case in furniture of this type and period , thus imitating the mahogany of the rest of the piece .
Good quality timber, with a pleasing faded mellow colour .
All original shelves and back-boards.
Constructed to 2 parts for ease of movement and transportation .
