C18th George period mahogany framed 'Gainsborough' type armchair .
Generously-proportioned armchair with moulded down-swept arms and raised on plain square section legs with 'H' frame stretcher beneath . The rear legs with angled splayed rake . The whole raised on sturdy brass wheel castors. Shaped 'camel-back' top rail and serpentine shaped front rail .
Has been recently reupholstered in the traditional manner and covered with yellow/gold figured damask in authentic Georgian period style.
Strong frame in original condition , cleaned and waxed. Deep rich colour and patina to the mahogany arms and frame .
A wide and deep , broad-seated C18th armchair of classic restrained and elegant design .
