Description

Late C19th/early C20th Edwardian period decorated satinwood display cabinet or vitrine in the Adam revival style. Good quality painted neo-classical style decoration to well-figured satinwood cabinet . Serpentine front door and sides ,raised on tapering square section supports with 'spade' feet. Cross-banded throughout and mounted with a carved and painted detail classically-inspired pediment. The decoration featuring floral swags , trailing husks and sun-flower oval paterae.
The interior fitted with shaped shelves , and covered in the apparently original , clean material lining. Original brass fittings , lock and key.
Excellent colour and condition , with minor shrinkage cracks to the top bar of the shaped ends. The painted decoration in excellent condition , retaining its original colours.
A smart cabinet in which to house a collection of fine porcelain , silver or 'objets de virtu'.
