Description

C19th William IV period pollard/burr oak ladies sewing or work table. Smart example with well-chosen figured burr-oak veneers, raised upon a quadrupite concave-sided platform base with carved collar and scroll-carved feet fitted with brass castors. The pillar support with 'swollen' carved stem , the canted-corner top with carved detail to corners and rim.
The fitted interior with lift-out centre section concealing a well. The compartmentalised interior with lidded and open sections for sewing paraphernalia and accoutrements .(Some lids deficient)
The inside of lid with deep red cut-velvet/plush lining.
Excellent condition , with a warm 'honey-coloured' patina to the pollard oak .
