Late C19th Chinese Qing Dynasty hardwood altar/serving or centre table . Useful scale hardwood/rosewood table of free-standing form . Panelled top of superb colour and patina , raised on square section legs with stylised block feet . The open-framed frieze with "stepped" stretchers and carved floriate motif tablets to all sides.
A style of table conceived on which to display valuable antiques or artefacts upon , or flowers as blessings and votives to esteemed ancestors in the Chinese culture.
The proportions ideal as a console or hall table.
A practical and decorative table of uncomplicated design,in outstanding original condition ,with a consistent rich patina.
