Description

C19th parquetry/marquetry-inlaid New Zealand tripod table . Made in the style and manner of the reknowned New Zealand émigré Bohemian cabinet-maker Anton Seuffert. Stunning marquetry-top circular occasional table inlaid with specimen indigenous/native New Zealand timbers. Geometric 'star-on-star' design inlaid top , raised on a distinctive turned baluster stem with 3 carved cabriole-type legs and base-finial. Brass 'banjo-type' catch to tilt-action top, and figured timber block. Although not labelled by Seuffert , this table bears strong resemblance to the style and craftsman-ship of Australasia's most celebrated colonial cabinet-maker. In excellent original condition .
