Description

Late C19th/Early C20th Chinese Qing Dynasty carved hardwood 'Bonheur-du-jour'/ writing table and armchair . High quality 'hongmu' desk and matching "horse-shoe" back corner-type armchair. Panelled-top desk with detachable carved and pierced galleried 'super-structure' back with an arrangement of pigeon-holes,cupboard and drawers. Two-drawer frieze front with carved and pierced apron, the whole raised on shaped cabriole-type legs.( x 2 keys ) The chair with panelled seat , cross-stretcher support ,swept arms , twin splat-back and shaped outline seat. Both articles having a superb patina and in excellent condition . Desk W 36" x H(back)44" x D 22" . Chair W(arm to arm )24" x H(back) 34". China c.1900
