Late C19th graduated 'nest' or quartetto of Chinese hardwood tables. Well-carved set of 4 Chinese tables with carved 'bamboo' frames and prunus blossom friezes. Excellent quality Chinese rosewood/hongmu timber , with a rich consistent colour in mint condition. Shaped stretchers , and all-over auspicious symbolic 'bamboo' carving representing longevity, strength and simplicity in Chinese culture,whilst the prunus or peach blossom ,symbolise health and well-being. Largest table .H 28" x D 14" x W 20". China c.1900.
Established in the Cathedral City of Worcester for over 40 years ,M.Lees&Sons , run by Michael Lees ,have been dealing with public and trade from show-rooms in an early Georgian town-house.
