C19th 'Grand Tour' bronze figure "The Dancing Faun with Clappers". Cymbals in hands , foot on scabellum. Cast after the model by Isaak Duchemin( C17th ).Inscribed on base "Duchemin". (After marble original first recorded in collection of Grand Duke of Tuscany ,Florence 1665. ) Now in Uffizi ,Florence. Whilst a life-size version of this iconic figure cast by Massimiliano Soldani Benzi can be found in grounds of Blenheim Palace Oxfordshire ,seat of the Dukes of Marlborough . Good patination and condition . 24" H
